ROUTE: DELHI/CHD – MANALI – KAZA – TABO – CHANDRATAL

Separated from fertile Lahaul by the soaring 4551m KunzumLa, the trans-Himalayan region of Spiti is another chunk of Tibet marooned in India. The scattered villages in this serrated, moonscape arrive like mirages, clusters of white washed mud brick homes huddled amid green barley fields below monasteries perched on crags a thousand feet above. The turquoise-grey ribbon of the Spiti River is your near-constant companion, running along a fairly broad valley before turning south at Sumdo into the precipitous gorges of the Hangrang Valley.

Spiti attracts many travellers, including streams of Indian motorcyclists, as a kind of ’mini-Ladakh without tourist crowds’, which is fair enough, since its pristine nature (high-altitude desert) and culture (Tibetan Buddhist) are still intact. The approaches to Spiti remain among the most rugged and scenically spectacular roads in India, and the Spiti Kinnaur loop is one of Asia’s great road trips.

Tour Plan

DAY 0 DEPARTURE FROM DELHI - OVERNIGHT JOURNEY TO MANALI

Leave from Delhi around 8:00 PM.
Take a pit stop for Dinner in the midway.
Reach MANALI next morning.

DAY 1 REACH MANALI - MANALI SELF EXPLORATION

Reach Manali in the morning & Check in to the Hotel.
Breakfast and Freshen up.
You're free to explore Mall Road, Hadimba Devi Temple,
Old Manali and go for Cafe Hopping.
Come back to the hotel by evening, Briefing about the next
day.
Have dinner and overnight stay in Hotel.

DAY 2 MANALI - ATAL TUNNEL - KUNZUM LA KAZA - OVERNIGHT STAY AT KAZA

After breakfast, start your journey to Kaza.
Enroute we will cross Atal Tunnel which is longest tunnel in
the world above 10000 ft. Later we will cross Kunzum La
Pass - Gateway to the Spiti Valley.
Finally reach Kaza and Check in to the Hotel, Overnight
stay.

DAY 3 KAZA - HIKKIM, KOMIC & LANGZA - KAZA

After Breakfast, we will cover the famous spots of the Spiti
valley.
Day includes the sightseeing of Hikkim Village - Post office,
Komic & Langza.
Come back to Kaza by evening, Dinner and Overnight stay at
the hotel only.

DAY 4 DHANKAR MONASTERY & PIN VALLEY

After Breakfast , first head towards Dhankar village and
cover Dhankar Monastery which offers a spectacular view of
confluence of Spiti and Pin river.
We first visit the Tailing hanging bridge and then the
beautiful hamlet of Mud – the last motorable village of the
Pin Valley.
Overnight stay at Tabo.

DAY 5 KAZA TO CHANDRA TAAL (KEY & CHICHAM BRIDGE)

We start tracing our steps back towards Manali. Enroute we
will cover Key Monastery & Chicham Bridge.
However, make one last stop to witness another Spitian
wonder – Chandra Taal Lake.
The mystical and beautiful Chandra Taal Lake or the Moon
Lake is located at a height of 14,000 feet.
Later Check in to Campsite near Chandra Taal Lake.
You'll love stargazing here.

DAY 6 TRANSFER TO MANALI & BACK TO DELHI

Wake up in the morning & after breakfast start your journey
for the day.
From Chandra Taal we'll drive back to Manali and enjoy
some amazing views.
Once we reach Manali, we'll spend sometime in the cafes &
then start our journey back to Delhi by Volvo.
Reach Delhi by next morning ( approx. 10 AM)
